  • Changan Centers to spearhead Dutch retail operations; first location to open soon in the Utrecht region
  • Comprehensive equipment, five-star Euro NCAP safety ratings and outstanding warranty coverage underline Changan’s market entry

Amsterdam – Changan is taking to Dutch roads. In mid-January, the company handed over the first Deepal S05 in the Netherlands. The delivery of the all-electric ‘C+’ SUV marks the official start of customer deliveries in the Dutch market.

‘Changan is continuously expanding its presence in Europe and we are now operating in 15 markets,’ says Ethan Yin, Executive Deputy General Manager of Changan Europe. ‘The start of deliveries in the Netherlands marks another milestone in our European expansion strategy.’

Changan coordinates its activities in the Netherlands from its recently established regional headquarters in Amsterdam. Through its retail partner Emil Frey Nederland, the brand is preparing for the rollout of customer-facing Changan Centers across the country, which will handle the retail operations for Changan in the Netherlands. The first location is scheduled to open soon in the Utrecht region, with additional sites to follow.

Changan Deepal S05 as a versatile and innovative everyday companion

With the ‘C+’ SUV Deepal S05 and the larger D-SUV Deepal S07, Changan’s line-up in the Netherlands initially comprises two models. The two fully electric cars celebrated their local debut last November at Fleet Expo in Utrecht. The Changan Deepal S05 was presented to the European public for the first time in September 2025 at IAA Mobility in Munich. With fast-charging capability of up to 200 kW, the 4,598-millimetre-long SUV is a versatile companion for a wide range of applications. Its 68.8 kWh high-voltage lithium iron phosphate battery combines high safety standards with reduced reliance of costly and environmentally harmful materials, and delivers a range of up to 485 kilometres.

The centrepiece of the Deepal S05’s modern and ergonomic interior is its 15.4-inch 2.5K touchscreen. In addition to voice control, it serves as the model’s central control element and can be rotated by up to 15 degrees towards the driver or front passenger to reduce reflections. The 2,880-millimetre wheelbase provides impressive legroom. With a capacity of 492 to 1,250 litres, the luggage compartment offers ample space for everyday use and travel. The frunk, with a capacity of up to 159 litres, is ideal for hand luggage or charging cables. For even larger loads, the fully electric C-SUV also proves to be a capable towing vehicle: with the optional removable tow bar, it can tow trailers weighing up to 1.6 tonnes.

Seven-year vehicle warranty and eight-year battery warranty for all Changan models

The Changan Deepal S05 is available with rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). The electric motor on the rear axle of the RWD variants delivers up to 200 kW, while AWD models feature an additional electric motor on the front axle, contributing up to 120 kW.

All Changan models come with a seven-year or 160,000-kilometre vehicle warranty and an eight-year or 200,000-kilometre battery warranty, underscoring a strong commitment to long-term reliability. Prices for the Changan Deepal S05 start at € 38,990. A heat pump and 17 intelligent, forward-looking driver assistance systems enabling Level 2 autonomous driving are standard, regardless of the selected equipment package. Changan’s high safety standards are further reinforced by the five-star Euro NCAP ratings achieved by both the Deepal S05 and the Deepal S07.
