New Changan Deepal S05: fully electric ‘C+’ SUV as an intelligent and stylishly dynamic everyday companion

Warsaw, 7 May 2026 – Stylish and dynamic design, advanced electric drive and a complete package of intelligent and future-proof infotainment and safety systems: the harmonious whole makes the Changan Deepal S05, developed specifically with the requirements of European customers in mind, a versatile companion for everyday life and all seasons.

With its genes from the Changan Design Center Europe in Turin and the Changan R&D Centre in Birmingham, the forward-looking Changan Deepal S05 received the prestigious iF Design Award in 2025. Clean lines, a wide track, flared wheel arches, and a sporty, dynamic silhouette give this five-door C+ SUV, measuring 4,598 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, and 1,600 mm high, a confident presence. Frameless windows, flush-mounted door handles, and an active grille optimize aerodynamics and efficiency. With a drag coefficient of just 0.25, the Changan Deepal S05 sets new standards in its class.

Comprehensive connectivity and ample space for everyday use

The Changan Deepal S05 combines comfort with sustainability through the utilization of high-quality materials, including vegan leather for the seats and steering wheel. At the heart of the uncluttered interior is a 15.4-inch, 2.5K ultra-HD touchscreen, which serves as the central control for vehicle functions and the infotainment system. On the Max trim, the display tilts 15 degrees toward the front passengers to reduce reflections and improve cabin ergonomics. Depending on the trim level, the Changan Deepal S05 also offers a 50-inch augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD) which projects key driving and navigation information directly into the driver’s line of sight. Over-the-air (OTA) updates, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto ensure comprehensive connectivity. Furthermore, the powerful MyChangan app supports remote functions such as vehicle access, charging, and climate control, including preconditioning, which prepares the battery and interior for driving.

The Changan Deepal S05's 2,880-millimeter wheelbase provides impressive legroom. Depending on the trim level, a 1.9-square-meter panoramic glass roof enhances the open-air feel. A variable luggage compartment concept with a capacity of 492 to 1,250 liters and an additional front trunk with a capacity of up to 159 liters underscore the Changan Deepal S05's practicality for everyday use. For even larger loads, the all-electric "C+" SUV is recommended as a powerful towing vehicle: thanks to the optional removable tow bar, it can tow trailers or caravans weighing up to 1.6 tons.

Efficient performance with rear- or all-wheel drive

The Deepal S05 is available with rear-wheel drive (RWD) or intelligent all-wheel drive (AWD), combining efficiency with responsive, engaging driving dynamics. In everyday conditions, the system prioritizes rear-wheel drive to maximize efficiency, while the intelligent AWD system seamlessly distributes torque when additional traction or stability is required – for example during acceleration or on low-grip surfaces. Multiple driving modes allow drivers to tailor the balance between comfort, efficiency and dynamic performance.

A permanently excited synchronous electric motor on the rear axle delivers 200 kW (272 PS) and 290 Nm of torque, providing smooth, immediate response and strong in-gear acceleration. This characteristic elasticity ensures effortless driving in both urban and motorway environments.

In the Deepal S05 AWD, an additional asynchronous electric motor on the front axle contributes a further 120 kW (163 PS) and 212 Nm of torque. This dual-motor setup enhances traction and stability while also delivering even more dynamic performance when required.

Exceptionally safe and fast charging: 68.8 kWh high-voltage lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery

Energy is supplied by a 68.8 kWh high-voltage lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. It boasts high thermal stability, exceptional durability, and a significant reduction in costly and environmentally harmful components thanks to the conscious selection of materials. A charging power of up to 200 kW at a DC fast charging station reduces charging times for the Changan Deepal S05 to a minimum. In just 15 minutes, the battery charges from 30 to 80 percent. At an AC charging station, the Changan Deepal S05 charges at up to 11 kW. Energy Interaction Ring Lights on the C-pillar of the Changan Deepal S05 inform the driver of the current charging status before entering the vehicle. Thanks to the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function, the "C+" SUV also demonstrates exceptional flexibility: external devices can be supplied with up to 6 kW of power.

The active radiator grille, which closes at high speeds, further contributes to the Changan Deepal S05's excellent aerodynamics and efficiency. Furthermore, the standard heat pump and pulse battery heating significantly optimize range in everyday use: Thanks to rear-wheel drive, the vehicle consumes just 15.9 kWh of electricity per 100 kilometers in the WLTP cycle, resulting in a range of up to 485 kilometers on a single battery charge. The even more powerful all-wheel drive version with two electric motors achieves a maximum range of 445 kilometers with an energy consumption of 17.5 kWh per 100 kilometers.

17 pioneering advanced driver assistance systems as standard and a maximum five-star Euro NCAP crash test rating

Regardless of the trim level chosen, the Changan Deepal S05 comes standard with 17 intelligent and pioneering Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) that enable SAE Level 2 driving assistance and enhance safety, comfort and confidence. These include Integrated Adaptive Cruise Control (IACC) with Car Follow and Stop & Go, Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Blind Spot Detection (BSD) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and Rear Cross Traffic Braking (RCTB) functions, and a Driver Fatigue Monitoring System (DMS).

The safety of the Changan Deepal S05 was highlighted when it achieved the maximum five-star rating in the Euro NCAP safety test, achieving strong results in adult occupant protection (94 percent) and child occupant safety (87 percent).

Price and availability in Poland

The Changan Deepal S05 will go on sale on the Polish market at prices starting from PLN 169,900 (PRO), PLN 179,900 (MAX) and PLN 189,900 (MAX 4WD). The model will be available from the brand’s official partners in Poland – the Bemo Group, the PGD Group and Matsuoka Motor. As part of the expansion of its sales network, Changan plans to open a total of 23 showrooms in 17 cities across the country, providing customers with widespread access to the range and after-sales service.

The model comes with an eight-year warranty covering 200,000 kilometres and a twelve-year warranty against perforation corrosion.
