Ljubljana – CHANGAN, one of the leading Chinese automotive manufacturers and a global pioneer in innovation, electrification, and intelligent mobility, has officially announced its entry into the Slovenian market.
The importer and distributor for the CHANGAN brand in Slovenia is Crossroad Slovenia, part of the OMR Group from Serbia. The OMR Group is a business ecosystem operating in the Serbian and regional markets, connecting services in insurance, finance, mobility, construction, and real estate management. With more than 1,100 employees, the OMR Group consists of 15 companies representing 12 globally recognized brands across various industries.
The automotive division, comprising a team of 200 employees, manages companies representing a portfolio of automotive brands: Changan, FIAT, Fiat Professional, Jeep, Alfa Romeo, Abarth, Land Rover, Isuzu, Subaru, Hyundai, and Kawasaki. In addition, the group also represents the luxury nautical brands Azimut and Sunreef.
The OMR Group develops integrated business solutions – from vehicle sales and servicing to financing, insurance, fleet management, and real estate development.
Under the slogan “Sharing the Future.”, the brand marked its arrival with a media event in Ljubljana, where it presented its long-term strategy for the Slovenian market and unveiled its first fully electric models: Deepal S05 and Deepal S07.
With more than 30 million vehicles produced and sold worldwide, a presence in over 100 countries and regions, and a strong focus on electric and smart technologies, CHANGAN enters Slovenia as part of a broader European expansion plan. This plan is designed in Europe and for Europe, supported by European design and technology centers, with Slovenia representing the next step in the company’s international strategy.
A global automotive group with strong European roots
Mag. Andrej Lazar, Director of Crossroad Slovenia, emphasized during the presentation:

And this is only the beginning. CHANGAN will further expand its offering with various powertrains, including plug\u2011in hybrids (PHEV), to meet the evolving needs of European drivers.
The event featured representatives of CHANGAN, the OMR Group from Serbia, and the Slovenian importer. Dejan Stupar, Executive Director of the Automotive Division OMR Group, presented the group’s business areas, of which Slovenia importer is also a part. Mag. Andrej Lazar outlined the plans for the Slovenian market, the expected sales and service network, and the brand’s market positioning. Mitja Slamnik, Head of Sales at the Slovenian importer, presented the Deepal S05 and S07 models in detail, while Jakob Pettersson, Director of Exterior Design for Deepal from Changan’s Italian design team, explained the design philosophy behind the vehicles.
Deepal: electric, intelligent, and user\u2011centric
Within the CHANGAN brand, the Deepal line represents the offering of electric vehicles for the European market, focused on smart, efficient, and technologically advanced models designed around real user needs. Deepal vehicles are built on Changan’s latest electric platform and feature advanced connectivity, intelligent driver assistance systems, and modern battery technology.
The arrival of Deepal in Slovenia begins with two complementary SUV models, covering two key market segments.
Deepal S05: a compact electric SUV with advanced technology
The Deepal S05 is a compact electric SUV for everyday use, combining a dynamic, aerodynamic exterior with a digitally designed and comfortable interior. Its design blends expressive volumes with smooth, flowing lines inspired by sculptural forms, creating a modern and distinctive appearance with a balance of style and functionality.
A standout feature of the S05 is its 159\u2011liter front trunk, one of the largest in its class. This additional space accommodates items such as a cabin suitcase, a folded stroller, or sports equipment, while keeping the main trunk free – enhancing everyday practicality.
In line with the idea that advanced technology should be easy to use, the Deepal S05 offers solutions for real-life situations. A tow hitch with a capacity of up to 1,600 kg is available, adding versatility for leisure and active lifestyles.
With a 68.8 kWh LFP battery, the rear\u2011wheel\u2011drive version of the Deepal S05 achieves up to 485 km WLTP combined range, and an all\u2011wheel\u2011drive version is also available. Thanks to ultra\u2011fast DC charging, the vehicle can gain more than 240 km of range in just 15 minutes, reducing charging anxiety and simplifying daily electric mobility.
The interior features a technology\u2011focused cabin with a 15.4\u2011inch rotating central touchscreen, an augmented\u2011reality head\u2011up display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, online navigation, and voice control. Safety and ease of use are enhanced by a 540\u2011degree camera system and standard Level 2 ADAS advanced driver assistance systems.
Deepal S07: a mid\u2011size electric SUV with premium comfort
The Deepal S07 represents the brand’s offering in the mid\u2011size SUV segment, bringing more space, higher perceived quality, and a more refined driving experience. Its coupe\u2011like silhouette and clean, futuristic design language are paired with a spacious interior designed for maximum passenger comfort. The model prioritizes refinement, efficiency, and everyday usability while maintaining solid performance and stable driving dynamics.
The interior includes a 15.6\u2011inch rotating display, an augmented\u2011reality head\u2011up display, a standard panoramic glass roof, an intelligent voice assistant, wireless smartphone charging, and extensive comfort equipment. Advanced driver assistance and safety technologies are also standard, reinforcing the model’s position as a technologically advanced and well\u2011balanced electric SUV.
A new battery version of the S07 will arrive in the second quarter of 2026.
Market launch offering
The recommended retail price starts at €39,990 for the Deepal S05 and €44,990 for the Deepal S07. These prices do not yet include the introductory promotional campaign for the brand’s launch in Slovenia or the national electric vehicle subsidy.
Sales network in Slovenia
The goal is to establish 7 sales and service locations, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the Slovenian market.
Comprehensive after\u2011sales support
The importer, Crossroad Slovenia, also presented its after\u2011sales strategy for the Slovenian market, designed to ensure worry\u2011free ownership from day one. This includes a 7\u2011year or 160,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8\u2011year or 200,000 km warranty for the battery and electric drivetrain.
A key element of Changan’s strategy is the central European spare parts warehouse, along with a main distribution center for Slovenia, ensuring high availability, short delivery times, and reliable supply for the entire dealer and authorized service network.
This logistics infrastructure confirms CHANGAN’s long\u2011term commitment to the Slovenian market.
A new electric chapter in Slovenia
Changan officially begins its journey in Slovenia with a combination of global experience, advanced technology, and design, launching the Deepal S05 and S07 models.
